For years, I've been infatuated with a tiny blonde from over the pond. She's spunky, extremely talented and gorgeous.
Once I saw tickets go on sale for her Delirium Tour, I just HAD to go.
Here is my experience seeing Ellie Goulding in Canandaigua, NY at the CMAC...
My close friend Jenna and I met up at Subway to finish getting ready and grab a bite to eat. We pumped up the jams and caught up during the hour and a half drive from Buffalo to the scenic Canandaigua, NY.
I couldn't believe in a few short hours, I would be seeing one of my favorite artists live!
We posted up in the parking lot, had a few drinks and enjoyed people watching.
But, once we heard the jovial sound of Matt & Kim beginning to play, we swiftly packed it up and headed to our seats.
Usually, opening acts are just "meh" in my opinion, however, Matt & Kim proved me wrong. They were extremely energetic and I have never seen someone as happy as Kim appeared on stage. Whether she was high on life, or something else, the duo was incredibly entertaining.
After they performed, it was time for the main event, Ellie Goulding. Anticipation coursed through my veins and once I knew she was moments away from making her entrance, I couldn't contain my excitement.
From start to finish, I was thoroughly impressed with her performance. Ellie had fabulous costumes, including the most badass leather jacket I've ever seen, a crew of phenomenal back-up singers, dancers and band, but most of all, her voice was flawless. She sounded exactly the same, if not better than on her recorded albums. She even played her guitar and the drums a few times. She's no joke.
Ellie played all my favorite tunes, from new to older albums. There truly is no better feeling than seeing some of your favorite songs performed live. She did play maybe one too many slower songs in the middle of her performance, but I enjoyed them all the same.
Jenna and I danced the night away, took dozens of pictures and even got a chance to get a closer look at Ellie during her encore.
I don't know if I'll ever see her again, but I couldn't have asked for a better concert.
Thank you Ellie for a night I'll never forget!!!
