Author: Mindy Kaling
Release Date: November 2011
Overview: Mindy Kaling is wise, down-to-earth and absolutely hilarious. Is Everyone Hanging Out With Me? is a collection of witty essays written by Miss Kaling herself.
Find out how the self-declared chubby Indian chick chased her dreams and managed to learn a few life lessons along the way.
She is very smart and had some wonderful excerpts about loving who you are, exactly the way you are.
She talks about evolving from an au pair to a writer and character on The Office.
The chapters are quick and if you don’t get through this book in less than a week, there’s something seriously wrong with you, Mindy’s words, not my own.
Some of her quirky essays are accompanied by pictures of Mindy as a child and throughout the years.
I am super eager to read Mindy’s other books ASAP.
What I didn't: Although Mindy kept me in stitches, I was kind of hoping she would have tossed in a few more serious stories into the mix. It’s great to stay entertained throughout an entire book, but personally, I love emotional emissions that provide a little extra depth to a person.
Also, to no fault of Mindy, the font of my e-book on my Kindle was frustrating. Some paragraphs were larger than others and at times I wanted to throw it against the wall… Except I use my phone and the Kindle app and I kind of need my phone.
