Type: Television Show
Release Date: October 2015
Episodes: About 50 mins per episode (13 episodes in Season 1)
Overview: Marvel's Jessica Jones is a Private Investigator in New York City with some handy tricks for solving cases; she has super-strength and the ability to virtually fly.
In order to hide from her haunted past, she sticks to hunting down cheating spouses. But, when her disturbing past comes back, she realizes she can't hide any longer and needs to face her demons head on.
There's also plenty more of likable and complex characters from Jessica's sister, neighbor to Jessica's love interest and many people in between.
The show is clever, intense and even funny. The storyline is incredibly creative and the fighting sequences are very impressive. Many episodes are shocking and you won't be able to stop yourself from gasping out loud.
One of the best parts happens to be the show's diabolical villain, Not only is he dominant and terrifying, but he may even make you feel a slight twinge of sympathy for him, making his character all the more powerful.
The show is totally binge-worthy, I finished it in one weekend, however, it is not suitable for children despite it being a "cool comic book show."
I can't wait for Season Two!!
What I didn't: Not having read the comic books, I would have personally liked to see more flashbacks early on in the show to help piece together Jessica's backstory.
