Jump into this phenomenal thrill-ride to find out!
What I loved: Simon Wood is one of my favorite authors and is one of the most underrated writers out there. He is able to write from the perspective of the victims AND the perpetrators in his books exquisitely.
The book starts off with a radiating intensity making the reader want to dive in and not move until it's finished. The chapters are quick, but filled with suspense and action.
There are so many incredible twists and turns, but fear not, you won't get lost, you will only become more entangled into the fascinating web the Piper has spun.
If you love suspense, thrillers and chilling stories, pick up Paying the Piper now!
What I didn't: My only wish is that Paying the Piper would have had further developed characters. Each of them was extremely interesting, but I would have liked to have learned more about each of them.
Why did the Piper kidnap children? What was the dynamic of Scott's marriage to his wife? Why did the lead FBI agent want to chase criminals?
Other than that, the book was an amazingly fast and satisfying read.
I've also read Simon Wood's book, The One That Got Away and I highly recommend it!
