Overview: What do you get when you mix a psychotic and lethal blonde, a deadly hitman, a pyromaniac, a world-class thief, an evil witch, a human crocodile and a kickass samurai chick?
You get the Suicide Squad.
See this bunch of criminals attempt to work together and do a little good, for once.
What I loved: I know, I know, I'm late to the Suicide Squad game. I was hesitant to see it for the longest time because I had heard such mixed reviews. However, once my boyfriend and I saw it was playing at our local "Cheap Show", we decided it was time to give the crew of criminals a try. And honestly, what did we have to lose when tickets were only $2.50 a piece?
I'm not sure if it's because I had low expectations, but I was incredibly impressed and entertained. Mind you, I'm not a comic book aficionado, but I appreciate a good story and intriguing characters even more. A handful of admirable actors were in the film, my favorites being Will Smith, Margo Robbie, Joel Kinnaman (yum), Scott Eastwood (double yum), and more!
Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn was by far my favorite character.
The movie had a good amount of action, suspense and even comedy. Also, the music added an extra cherry on top. Definitely check out the soundtrack on iTunes!
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with Suicide Squad even though it didn't pack the typical in depth, dramatic punch of most superhero movies. I hope there's a sequel, I need to know what happens next for Harely Quinn!
What I didn't: Surprisingly enough, I thought I would love Jared Leto's Joker the best, but he actually disappointed me. There's no way I can watch a Joker and NOT compare him to Heath Ledger. Heath will always be my #1 Joker.
Also, I would have liked more background story on each character.
