The Black Tapes Podcast host, Alex Reagan, convinces Dr. Strand, a well-known paranormal skeptic, to re-visit the mysteries lying within his black tapes. The tapes contain paranormal cases Dr. Strand previously studied, however, he was unable to disprove the validity of the events. He is the ultimate disbeliever, but Alex keeps her eyes, ears and mind wide open to hunt for the truth no matter how terrifying it may be.
Each episode delves deep into a new and unique paranormal case.
The Black Tapes Podcast is trend-setting the “serialized docu-drama” genre. Hurry up and listen now!
As the story develops, a mixture of crime becomes intertwined with the suspenseful unknown. Who can Alex trust, if anyone at all? Is she putting her own life in danger by traveling down the dark and twisted path to the truth? Only time will tell!
Also, the quality of this podcast is phenomenal. The audio is crystal clear and I even noticed extra special effects when listening to the episodes with my ear buds. The background music is spunky and reminds me of Serial at times.
I could not stop listening and I cannot wait until the remainder of the season is released.
To feel the full extent of this podcast’s creepiness, listen alone at night with all of the lights off.
What I didn’t: So far, I don’t have many complaints. The ones I do have are very minor in nature. I have noticed at times, the audio during interviews versus the regular narration varies and I’ve had to adjust my volume a few times every episode as to not hurt my ears. Also, maybe I missed something, but during the episodes, Alex will say, “Stay with us,” or “After the break…”, but there aren’t any actual breaks. Unless the podcast is featured on a radio station, I’m not sure what these pauses are meant for.
The Black Tapes Podcast is released weekly.

The Blacktapes has continued to be entertaining and very creepy. The story is still developing and I love to listen every time a new episode is available.
