Overview: Sophia Grant is a lawyer, living in Chicago, who prides herself on her work ethic and professionalism.
However, when her best friend is in need of legal aid, Sophia must now delve deep into a new challenge; trying NOT to fall for the opposing lawyer.
Will Sophia let her feelings ruin her friend's chances at winning his case?
The Opposition is the debut novel of up-and-coming author, Alicia Bryant.
I love how Bryant captures the very real jitters one can have when meeting someone they may be interested in for the very first time. I often found myself smiling when Sophia would think about or speak to the opposition.
What made this book extra special to me though, is that it wasn't a typical Fifty Shades "romance". There was depth to this story and it was completely tasteful and romantic. Even though the author could have very easily tried to mirror E.L. James, she paved her own path which made the way for a very entertaining book.
The Opposition is also very easy to read and I read most of it in one or two sittings.
I really hope their is a sequel coming... hint, hint!
What I didn't: I could have used a little more character developement regarding Sophia, her best friend and love interest. I love knowing every detail about a character including where they're from and what makes them tick.
