Overview: If you’re like me, you became interested in investigative podcasts, or podcasts in general because of Serial. Serial is still on hiatus until the sophomore season is released, however, I believe Missing Maura Murray is an average substitute.
Maura Murray disappeared on February 9th, 2004 in New Hampshire. As far as we know, she was not abducted nor murdered, she simply disappeared. There have not been any credible sightings of Maura since her disappearance.
Creators, Lance Reenstierna and Tim Pilleri, dive right into the mystery of Maura Murray with this podcast and a documentary, which is still in the works.

Overview:Earlier this year, my sister, Lindsay, and I wanted to download a podcast for our road trip from North Carolina to Ohio. We chose The Lapse podcast based on its incredible iTunes ratings. On our drive, we ended up happily listening to approximately 16 episodes in a row.
However, one episode featuring a former military-woman particularly struck a bad note with us, so we took a break from listening.
Since then, I’ve become more and more fascinated with podcasts and recently chose to revisit The Lapse because I had originally liked it so much. I decided to not let one person ruin the podcast for me. I am incredibly happy I made this decision and have since caught up on every episode I’ve missed.
The Lapse, iTunes Best of 2014, is a storytelling podcast featuring real people sans a script or any kind of rehearsal. However, it’s not your typical podcast. The Lapse infuses music and special effects into the already fascinating stories. From accounts of being held captive in a Thai prison to being a secret Mexican pop idol all the way to the spectrum of overcoming virginity, death, and embracing fresh starts, The Lapse covers it all.
The Lapse podcast is created and narrated by Kyle Gest and features true stories all gussied up.
